Clinic Safety Precautions

TAFA Clinic safety precautions in effect during the pandemic

TAFA is taking the following precautions to protect our client and help slow the spread of the coronavirus:

  • Office seating in the waiting room and in therapy/testing rooms has been arranged for appropriate physical distancing.
  • TAFA staff will wear masks, unless a barrier is present, at which point masks can be removed if all parties agree.
  • TAFA staff will maintain safe distancing.
  • Restroom soap dispensers will be maintained and everyone is encouraged to wash their hands before appointments begin.
  • Hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is available in the therapy/testing rooms, the waiting room and at the reception counter.
  • TAFA will schedule appointments at specific intervals to minimize the number of people in the waiting room.
  • TAFA will ask all clients to wait in their cars or outside until no earlier than 5 minutes before their appointment times.
  • Credit card pads, pens, tables, chairs and other areas that are commonly touched are thoroughly sanitized after each use.
  • All materials/toys used during evaluations and therapies will be sanitized before and after each session.
  • Physical contact is not permitted.
  • Tissues and trash bins are easily accessed. Trash is disposed of on a frequent basis.
  • Common/high traffic areas are thoroughly disinfected at the end of each day.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Beware of agencies offering Virtual ADOS testing. Valid administration of ADOS-2 requires face-to-face, hands-on interaction between client & evaluator. This ensures accurate assessment of qualitative social interaction & social communication. Virtual administration of the ADOS-2 would exclude the necessary interaction required to examine those critical characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

While maintaining the fidelity of our assessments, evaluators at TAFA are taking every measure to ensure safety and health of our clients and staff during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
